The Longs' Way Home

Today, we spent a couple of hours walking through the house and plotting the placement of all the electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, etc.  We are really enjoying the way we are able to customize these kinds of details, not only to have it the way we want, but also to be efficient and leave out what we don't need. We're also about to order cabinetry, since the best promotion is currently available!  We're ordering white, shaker-style cabinets because of the clean lines and to brighten up the space.  

We spent another Saturday clearing underbrush and making our first burn pile.  We ended the day with BBQ and S'Mores! Starting small Enjoying the sweet reward We also discovered a new addition to the house... the Front Porch!

After an amazing 8 days traveling through 13 states in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, we were anxious to visit the house and see what has been going on!  The first thing we noticed were... WINDOWS!! Kitchen Window to Back Deck Our back deck has been covered:  The interior is really taking shape: Front Door and Dining Left: Pantry, Closet, Schoolroom; Right: Kitchen, Master  It may not be pretty now, but I cannot wait to use this faucet:
