My Plate Is Full, Yet My Cup Runneth Over

So I promise I haven't fallen out of the routine of blogging... but life has been pretty crazy of late. First, Printville is finally open! John has been working long hours and I am so excited for him that this adventure is coming to fruition. Please stop by the shop if you get a chance! Then, (just as we admired the fact that our kids have never been really that sick) a stomach bug invaded. I had it first, and then the kids. (John was spared, thankfully!) It made for a very long week. I will stop there and say no more. (However, check FB statuses for the ugly truth!) Also, I just found out that I'll be traveling to Wichita, KS in March to understudy a small part in the Resurrectio act of Godspell . Although I'm excited to re-experience high school musical days, more importantly, I'm humbled to be a part of a production that is directly focused on telling the story of Jesus. Seeing it last Easter had such an impact on me, and to take it to another city and get t...

Trying to Resolve Those Resolutions...

I'm a procrastinating perfectionist with lots of resolutions this year. It's a bad combination. Progress check: Well, blogging has been fairly good! Exercise is coming along... starting this week I'll have 2 dance classes plus Godspell angel rehearsals this month. And as soon as John opens the shop, we'll probably join the Y. Looking forward to Discover retreat this weekend so I can have 3 hours of uninterrupted quiet time to read & pray... not to mention awesome worship time with a wonderful group of women! Keeping up with the house is progressing not as quickly as I'd like, but I am getting there. The living room, playroom, and kitchen are not the issue... it's upstairs that never seems to get maintained. (Since we host gel group every Monday night, the downstairs is usually cl...

Music & Lyrics

At times, I tend to binge on music. Like a kid on Christmas morning that plays exclusively with a new toy until they've discovered every detail and function, so am I with music. The usual culprit is Christy Nockels . Ever since I started listening to Watermark in college, there is something about that music that drives me to worship. There are still songs that I could still listen to over and over ("Incorruptible," "Knees to the Earth," to name a few). The only problem I encounter is sometimes I tend to focus on the music and not the lyrics, therefore bypassing the heart of worship... Lately, I have been binge-listening to David Crowder Band's "Church Music." It's an album designed to be listened to from start to finish, since each song leads right into the next. I bought it in late September and, according to my iTunes play count, I've listened to it 22 times (which surprised me, because I would've thought it would've been c...
