"Umm, are you taking fertility drugs?"
We had our first OB appointment after three weeks of nervously waiting. Dr. Simmons could tell by exam that Shay is "definitely pregnant". Knowing we were extra nervous becase of our early miscarriage in April, Dr. Simmons gave the go-ahead for an ultrasound. Unfortunately, John had to go to work, so Shay headed off to the appointment.
After a few tense moments with a dark screen, the u/s tech finally finds the gestational sac with a flickering heartbeat! Whew! She proceeds to take pictures of the uterus and ovaries, when she gets a puzzled look on her face. She asks, "Umm, are you on fertility drugs?". I tell her no, and she turns the screen towards me to reveal another sac with a heartbeat. That's right... WE'VE GOT TWINS!!!! Both are measuring right on target. Praise the Lord for such a miracle!
