The first month!
The first month has definitely been about learning and survival. Most of our time is spent feeding, changing, burping, and consoling. The cycle repeats itself every 3 hours, and of course sleep is a very precious commodity for John and I!
The babies are doing great! They had their one month check-up today and both have more than surpassed their original birth weights!! They are really starting to fill out their newborn clothes, and we can't wait until the weather gets warmer so they can wear some of their cute outfits!
Under doctor's recommendations, we have pretty much kept them to ourselves (and family!) for now, other than going out for check-ups. The weather was really nice over Easter weekend, and we took them out for a stroller ride around the neighborhood, which was fun for mommy and daddy too! The twins also had a photo shoot the week after they came home, and our friend Asher took some amazing photos of them! It was a very special way to capture their first few days. They've already grown so much since then!
We look forward to the coming months when we'll be able to get out and "rejoin society" with our new additions! I'm also looking forward to play times when they interact not only with us but with each other too!
A BIG THANK YOU to all our family and friends who have visited, called, and cooked delicious meals for us this past month. John and I feel so comforted by all the support and it has made this transition so much easier... it has allowed us to focus on Drew & Eden in these precious first weeks. We are so anxious to share them with everyone!
Well, time to begin the cycle again! We'll try to post some new pictures soon!
Love,
John, Shay, Drew, & Eden
