Our fun summer....

Ok, so I'm a bad mommy blogger...We've had a wonderful summer! Drew and Eden are growing so much. They are 5 months old now and so much different in many ways. We spent a wonderful and very busy weekend in Atlanta for 4th of July. On Thursday we spent time at the Starchich's, and the twins got to meet Brie (one of my bridesmaids, and also newly engaged!), Jennifer (my roommate from college and beyond), and Kelly (my friend from high school). Of course, Drew and Eden spent a lot of time entertaining Grammee, Papa J, and Aunt Liz showing them their new tricks!  

Friday was the 4th, and we spent the day hanging out at the Long's with "G Diddy" & "Mammy" (our fun nicknames for John Sr. & Pat), Aunt Valerie and Uncle Gary, and Mimi (John's Grandma). Drew and Eden had their first pool party, and spent about 15-20 minutes in the pool with Mommy and Daddy, while the many video cameras captured every moment! It was a lot of fun, and Drew and Eden seemed to enjoy the water!

On Saturday, we spent most of the day in the car traveling around Atlanta meeting up with friends. First, we had lunch at Jason's Deli with Eric & Kristen (yummy!). Then after a quick shopping stop, we headed to Northside Hospital to meet Kent & Tara's 4th of July baby, Annelise Lauryn!! She was so beautiful, and she was pretty close to Eden's birthweight, so it's amazing to think how much they've grown in 5 months! While we are there, we also got to meet Eric & Sherilyn's new baby, Nellie. Yeah, something must have been in the water last year with all these new babies. We practically had a daycare center going on in the waiting room! :-)

We ended our long day with dinner at Ippolito's with Scott & Julie and their boys Tate & Knox, John's good friend Chris, and Eric & Sherilyn and Nellie. Unfortunately, by this point Drew and Eden were pretty tired, and with all the noise in the restaurant, it was a little too much (read: double meltdown!). Despite that, it was so great to see everyone and meet all the new additions. We miss our friends dearly, and it was great to hang out with so many!

Sunday was the last day, and after packing up we headed to the Holland's to visit with Vann, Jan, Chase, and Lindsi... as well as Brandon & Evie Nunnally with their new baby, Davis (see, something's in the water!). Drew and Eden had a fun time, and worked their charm on everyone!

Other than the Atlanta trip, life's been pretty normal here in Asheville! We've had fun picnics in a couple different parks, gone to Bele Chere (with Aunt Liz & Ryan), and just having fun at the house! I'm sure there will be plenty of adventures to come! Well, that's all for now... I'll try to keep up better!
